About Marisol

Marisol Vega became the unofficial organizer of her street after a fall evacuation warning sent her neighbors scrambling for documents, chargers and pet carriers in the middle of the night. Nobody lost their home that time, but everyone agreed they would never be that unprepared again. The next spring, Marisol hosted a driveway meeting with a stack of printed checklists, and her role as the neighborhood planner was sealed.

At The Firebreak she writes about the practical, often overlooked side of living in fire country: building a home inventory, reading a homeowners policy, handling an insurance non-renewal, writing a household action plan, budgeting for home hardening, packing go bags, researching fire-resistant materials, staying informed during a fire and writing to local officials.

She is not an insurance agent, lawyer or firefighter, and she always points readers to official sources and licensed professionals. What she brings is a planner’s eye for turning overwhelming tasks into clear next steps, along with a habit of testing how everyday AI tools can draft checklists, letters and plans, as long as a human checks every fact.

Writes about: Home inventories, insurance, household action plans, home hardening budgets, go bags, fire-resistant materials, wildfire communication, local advocacy.
